Everybody has their own private Mount Everest they were put on this earth to climb.
You may never reach the summit; for that you will be forgiven. But if you don’t make at least one serious attempt to get above the snow-line, years later you will find yourself lying on your deathbed, and all you will feel is emptiness.
– Hugh McLeod
I am writing these miniseries about what I believe is the most powerful way to live for you guys out there and also for myself and maybe for my own children if they choose to read it some years down the road.
Why I write this for myself? I write it for myself too, because I know how easy it is to fall of the tracks and to not follow the right direction. It happened to me way too many times.
And I want a constant reminder of what I find to be the best, most powerful way to live and succeed in everything I try in my short life. Because, life really is way too short! And we all know it!
You might want to embark on this daring journey with me. You really should!
The harsh reality for all of us
I don’t want to sound dramatic here, but a simple reality we all know is a fact, that we, all of us, are not going to make it out of this world alive.
Now, before you get mad on me for reminding it to you and get depressed about it, I want you to think about it very differently.
Here is the harsh reality:
Me, you and everybody else is going to eventually die, and die quite soon. 90+/- years is not really that long.
And this very simple fact can be an incredible and powerful guideline in your life. And sooner you start guiding yourself by this powerful piece of fact, the better.
So let’s say you’re 27 when you’re reading this. Ok, 90 – 27 = 63.
Let’s go little further.
Past 70 years old your energy levels start to drop rapidly. Your creativity, passion, boldness and all those beautiful things young people possess are pretty much gone. Ok, than 90 – 70 = 20.
And we will finish out not that difficult math formula with 63 – 20 = 43 Years.
So, if you are 27 years old now, than you have about 43 years to really kick ass in your life, before if you’re lucky you enjoy healthful old age. Not everybody will be lucky enough to do that.
And plus, you are 27! That’s youth! How many people reading this are much older? Many! My fellow 27 year old reader, consider yourself to be lucky enough to read this that early in your life.
I am going to ask you the ultimate question here:
What are you going to do with that short time you’ve left on this planet?
And I will arrogantly follow with what I believe are the right answers to this ultimate question.
First, you have to be and stay as healthy as you can. That means you have to be maximally healthy, so you have a lot of energy do achieve your true potential in life. Than, you need a lot of confidence to believe in yourself.
Yes you need bulletproof confidence for approaching your callings with boldness and action.
You need perfect health, you need a lot of energy and you need confidence.
How do you achieve that?
Simple: You become as physically fit as you can possible be. You achieve maximum physical fitness. And than you eat healthy diet.
What else to ad here? There is nothing else to add here. Get physically fit. Possibly achieve six pack abs fithness levell. Eat healthy diet. And don’t forget to have some fun with it!
Than you can and must:
Live with no regrets
Always ask yourself the question: Am I going to eventually regret not doing this or doing this? And than shut your head down and listen to your heart.
Don’t try to make a smart decision! Try to make a right decision! Do your best! And don’t worry about the rest. How do you do that?
Follow your heart not your head
I know. You always want to make a smart decision. And there is nothing wrong with that. You should be making smart decisions for the most part. Just make sure that you also listen to your heart before you make these smart decisions.
If you always follow your head, you’re going to do things for some stupid mercenary reason that in the large scheme of life don’t matter much. I know, you want to do smart decisions, to not go into a debt, to not rock the boat, to not put yourself in uncomfortable situations and so on.
All the smart decisions mainly lead to protecting you comfortable zone, preserving and accumulating your resources to increase your comfortable zone even more.
But ultimately, you’re not going to take it with you. You’re going to leave it all here. What you’re going to take with you is really the bold life you lived with no regretts.
So if you really think about it, it’s a dum decision to follow your head instead of you following your heart. In large scheme of life, the heart decisions always win! Always!
At the end of your life you are almost never likely to regret decisions you made with your heart. But you’re almost certainly going to regret decisions you made with your head while your heart called for a different decision.
It’s a dumb decision!
People who think they are doing smarter decisions with their heads, compare to people who make decisions with their hearts are actually not that smart themselves. Why? Because they are not looking at things from the ultimate perspective I talked about above.
Of course by doing decisions with your heart, I mean not braking the laws. Or doing some stupid things that get you in real trouble.
Be bold in your actions
Now you know, that you should follow always your heart. So what is your true calling?
Go and chase it! It will change from time to time. And that’s ok.
Catch it! And than go and catch another one. And don’t let it go. If your calling changes, let that one go and catch fast the other one. That’s sort of a formula I want you to live your life.
I don’t meant with that living sloppily without direction. I mean with that living as daring and carrying and effective bold life as you possibly can.
I, you and everybody else wants to live life full of fulfilled potential and with no regrets. And I found a simple formula how to do it.
Become and stay very healthy, physically fit, gain health, energy and confidence that come with. And than, just follow your heart and live with no regrets.
I will be talking about few concrete examples in my feature articles on this ultimate topic. So please stay tuned.
Thank you for reading!
