Our step number 8 for week 8 on your journey to six pack abs in a year is to go and get some simple equipment. Nothing major. Get 2 pieces of equipment: pair of dumbbells (who ever named them dumbbells must have been pretty dum indeed) and though band with handles.

Try to make it to the store some day this week and buy these 2 pieces of equipment. And just put them under your bed closely accessible for now, because our step number 9 will make you really use them.
Now I want to correct myself a little from the video where I talk about going to the store and trying those dumbbells. I really want you to get the correct weight.
So what is the correct weight of the dumbbells you should get? Use this formula:
Grab the dumbbells and start doing shoulder presses like on the video. Use the loads I talk about there. Now, if you can do easily 20 repetitions with the load you are trying now, it’s too light. You need to get heavier ones. So which is the perfect load?
Perfect weight of your dumbbells: You can finish 15 repetitions, but you can’t finish 20 repetitions with it. It’s as simple as that. For example, if you manage to press those dumbbells 17 times and you failed pressing it 18th time, that’s a correct load. Or if you only managed to do 15 but failed at 16th, it’s a perfect load also.
Use these guidelines to determine the correct, effective weight of the dumbbells you’ll be doing your first strength training exercises. Off course, over time you’ll be getting stronger and you’ll need to replace these dumbbells for heavier ones.
You can exchange them in the store or if you are willing to invest little more money and it is wort it, get one of those dumbbells on which you can add and take load away. They are great investment and they will last you a lifetime.
This is the simple step 8 for the week 8 in Year to six pack abs program. You already have a huge part of the road covered. With all the diet tips we talked about in our previous steps. And you know what? It’s a major step toward your own six pack abs. It really, really is. So make sure you stick with your steps you applied until now. With the stuff you eliminated and replaced, like what to eat, what to drink so far. This is really, really big!
