I heard this one from one of my buddies, who also happens to have six pack abs and is a very accomplished guy. He said: Reading nonfiction if its not closely followed by action is just hiding from action.
Basically what he said is, that if you consume a lot of nonfiction books, reading blogs, magazines and web sites and you think you are learning, you are most likely just having a good time reading without learning much. You are just hiding from taking action.
The true learning comes from action. People who act a lot, don’t have much time to read a lot. I happen to agree with this statement. Anyway, read as much fiction as you want to for pleasure. Because it is just for that – for pleasure. Read nonfiction for immediate action only. If you don’t act right after you red it, it’s just a waste of time.
I just finished set of exact action steps, how to achieve six pack abs. Did you read it? Did you take action? Here it is:

Information junkie
But if you already did read it and you are holding another six pack abs book or fitness book in your hand and reading it and thinking you need more info, you might be an information junkie. A person who knows a lot, but acts little. A person who wants to do a lot, but is stuck consuming more information. Acquiring knowledge without action is waist of time, I repeat. Knowledge without action is not knowledge at all. It’s a theory in your head. People who act on what they learned are the truly knowledgable.
A hint: You might want to put that book down and do a set of pull ups and push ups instead. You already know what to do!
