Persevere!
I want to talk now little bit about perseverance and six pack abs. Perseverance is crucially important in the quest to achieve six pack abs. In anything that is complex and valuable and exceptional to achieve, you need perseverance. You have to persevere to see six pack abs one day on your stomach. You already know what to do, now you just need to persevere. There will be setbacks and bad days. You will loose motivation and drive to achieve six pack abs. But you also must bounce back. This is quite natural process of winners in this world. Are you one? I know you are!
Getting a six pack abs is not like completing 7 page assignment that you can finish in one day if you try hard. It’s way more complex than that. It takes knowledge and than months of effort, failing, bouncing back, trying again. And this is the single one reason why so little people have six pack abs.
Making things happen, makes more things happen
We are naturally not good at achieving complex long term goals. It takes very special effort, perseverance and motivation to succeed. But, in spite of its difficulties, everybody can build these valuable traits. They will help you archive not only six pack abs, but many, many other valuable things in your life. If you make things happen, that will make more things happen. You will actually start believing, that you can make things happen. And that I repeat, make more things happen.
So, how do you persevere and ultimately succeed? First, you have to realize, that your goal – achieving six pack abs is not going to happen over night. Big, valuable goals that make a huge difference in our life’s don’t happen over night. They take long time effort. The road to them is full of bumps and setbacks. And the one who succeed are those who bounce back from these setback and keep plugging through. And I assure you, that the setbacks and bumps, even huge bumps will come.
Trick yourself to success
I have a little trick, how I stick to my goals. I constantly remind myself, that every time I try and work on a certain complex goal, I get just a little bit better. Every time I have raw kale salad with some chicken breast and some nuts on it, I am getting just a little bit closer to my goal of keeping my six pack abs.
The same happens with every set of push ups and pull ups or with every glass of plain water a choose to drink instead of some kind of sweetened beverage. Every little step gets me closer to my goal. And you too have to think this way. You have to have a map, that will get you to your goal and this is the map. Than you need to follow the map and don’t quit. If you follow the map and keep doing your little big steps, you’ll eventually reach your destination – your own six pack abs.
Keep steering your pots
I stole this impression from David Allen. He writes in his book – Getting things done, that you should have a pot of things you are trying to get better at and keep steering this pot on regular basis. And I want you to throw six pack abs goal into this pot.
Here are my activities and goals that I am trying to get better at and I threw into my pot – tennis, surfing, writing, creating some kind of art, welding, learning Spanish (I am not very successful steering this one regularly), guitar playing. Six pack abs goal is not in my pot anymore simply because i already achieved this goal. But its maintenance certainly is. And I am trying at least 3 times per week steer every one of these activities. It’s challenging, but looking at it this way helps a lot.
The result of these actions are, for example my tennis is at the next level, same with surfing. I used to be average tennis player and surfer. But 10 years steering my surfing and tennis helped me achieve certain mastery at these sports. And I can beat some good tennis players out there. It used to be an unachievable dream. But I kept at it and kept steering.
I want you to do the same with six pack abs goal. Throw it in the pot and keep steering. And keep steering. Stay in touch with it. It doesn’t matter what progress you are making on day to day basis. Just keep steering. And one day, not that long into the future, your well defined fully cooked six pack abs will be there on your belly.
Keep at least the little six pack abs sparkle shining there. Don’t let it die. Steer, steer, steer, persevere and succeed. You can do it. In fact, I think you will. Only the big worth while goals like achieving six pack abs really matter. Those really define us. What we are. How hard are we really willing to fight. And I know that deep down you are a person who achieves his dreams.
