People get obsessed by security. They avoid dangerous situations. They accumulate lots of money and always feel like they don’t have enough to be secure to the future. We get afraid in this world a lot even do there is almost no real genuine reason for us do do so.
So we hide, secure our homes, accumulate more money, build high fences and pay for expensive alarm systems.
But we often forget about one of the most important, most genuine security in this world: Our health, injury prevention and longevity. And we often don’t obsess about this kind of security at all. We just exercise and eat healthy diet whenever we have time. That’s what I am suppose to do, right? You tell to yourself. If we don’t, we skip it, without any guilt. Hey, tomorrow is another day, right?
You will most likely not be robbed on gunpoint in your lifetime, or you will certainly not starve to death on the street, because you run out of money. If your house gets ever burglarized, it will most likely happen, when you are on vacation and all they will take is some worthless electronics and maybe some jewelry. The most valuable things in your house are the pictures of your kids after all. Everything else is just a worthless junk.
But, you are very likely to become diagnosed with one of this scary life threatening diseases in your lifetime: diabetes, cancer, heart disease, broken hips, Alzheimer’s disease.
Now, Guess what? The best way to prepare for disaster like this. The best security for these genuine dangers in our life is to exercise and eat healthy diet. Maybe you should obsess about these just a little bit more from now on.
