I don’t want to brag here or anything like that, but I haven’t missed my six pack abs workout for past 5 years. I am totally honest with you. Ok, maybe few times, when I had to intentionally make myself skip my workout, because I was sick. But that was 2 times not 23 times.
Now this site is about six pack abs kind of fitness everybody should try to shoot for. And if you want to have six pack abs, you can’t skip your workouts. There is no time for being sore here. And as I hope you know already, soreness is a sign of inconsistency. You have to stay consistent. You have to! If you get sore, you are not consistent.
But, considering the nature of exercise, it is very hard to stay consistent. It is very challenging to do it day in and day out for long time without missing your workout sessions. Only very small number of people can do it and are doing it. The percentage is very small. The odds are heavily against you.
Than there is another group. And those are people who do their workouts semi regularly. This is a little bigger crowd that gets sore often. Not a good think. And lastly, there is a huge group of people who don’t even try to work out.
Now, my advice about death certain consistency is to those semi regular exercisers.
Those who are already consistent and not missing their workouts, they already have their own tricks to do it. If you are one of them, fantastic! Keep doing what you are doing. I can only hope to convince those who don’t exercise at all to start doing so. And hopefully they can use my tricks off dead certain exercise consistency, to get them started. That would really make me seriously happy!

I get it done at work.
Yes, I know, I am a trainer and trainer work in gym environment. So it’s a no brainer to work out in my job while I work. But, this is not entirely true. Personal training job is well, very personal. My clients are paying me lots of money to give them my 100% personal attention.
I don’t get my workout done while training clients. No good trainers do. I have to be focused on the client at all times, motivating, correcting and pushing them. For personal trainer, there are only few brakes to do some workouts. And I have them between my sessions. And I make sure, my workout gets done in those brake. I having a young child at home am not willing to stay and hang out at the gym after my work is done. There is no time for it.
And so shouldn’t you. But, you might say: Milan, I work in the office, how am I suppose to get my workout done? I don’t have any equipment there. That’s a pretty good concern. And I have an answer for you. I described this work/workout solution in my previous articles.
You need to have a system and few basic pieces of equipment. Couple of heavy enough dumbells, pull up bar and maybe a floor mat.
And than you finish all your prescribed workout for the day at work. I describe the whole process here, here and here. Get inspired, learn it and apply. It really, really, really works. No more going to gym after work. That doesn’t really work for busy people with families.
Don’t wait for the evening. Don’t do it early in the morning. Do it while you work! And that really works! You’ll stay consistent! And that matters a lot!

My workout is short, but very intensive
There is no need to hang out at the gym for long time or do prolonged workouts at work or home. There is no need for complicated plans. You don’t need them. Six pack abs fitness is about few very effective exercises, done intensivelly and consistently over period of time. That’s how the big magic happens.
It never takes me more that 25 minutes to finish my workout. It’s short. It’s intensive. I stay consistent. It really works! Who wants to hang out long time in the gym. If you do, please do! If you don’t, there is no reason to do so. And it needs to be accommodated to your work environment. That means short, intensive, with brakes between.
People are often very amazed when I tell them how little time I spend working out at the gym. They see my fit athletic body with six pack abs, yes, I like to take off my shirt often on nice sunny days to get some sun and tan. And when I tell them about the short time I spend working out, they don’t seem to be able to put it together.

My cardiovascular exercise is fun
You won’t see me in the gym on treadmill, elliptical or stationary bicycle. And that’s one of the reasons my workout gets done consistently.
Yes, cardiovascular exercise is important to your overall fitness. It is not as important as strength training, but it’s still part of overall fitness. And most of the cardiovascular exercise that gets done out there in real world is boring, uninspiring spinning wheels on some stationary cardiovascular equipment. Stop that madness! It’s not sustainable. You’ll quit!
So what should you do? Make it fun! Pick a sport outdoors and just go out on your weekend and spent some time outside doing fun cardiovascular activity. Here are sime examples: play tennis, go hiking, play soccer, beach volleyball, hockey, ping pong, go for a fun run on the beach with your dogs or kids, climb a mountain, mountainbike, roller skate, surf, windsurf, ski, cross country ski. There are lots of options out there. Pick few and do them. And learn a fun skill in the process. Don’t waste your time one any cardiovascular commercial gym equipment. They are so boring. You are not learning anything and you are soon to be quitting. Don’t let that happen to you!
