I am not a big fan of organic foods and produce. My reason for this is that I heard that organic commission is charging farmers big bucks to test their produce in order to give them certification. So many small mom and pop farms can’t really afford it or choose not to to save some money for themselves. Plus you can’t often see and taste the difference between those two.
Go organic on butter
But recently I went organic on butter. Yes, the plain butter. The switch came after one day I bought organic butter just to taste the difference. I put the organic butter on the table right next to nonorganic butter and immediately noticed the difference in color. The organic butter has significantly more yellow color. Actually the nonorganic butter is plain unnaturally white. And that is very important reason to make a switch. All that yellow color are the important vitamins in butter that makes this unpopular food a supper food.
Happy cows – better butter
Yellow colored butter comes usually from the smaller farms where cows are fed mainly grass and are much more happier and treated better. The result of this is that happy cow produces vitamins reach butter. It is as simple as that. So the butter from happy cows is richer in vitamins K,A,E and also contains some B vitamins. All of these vitamins are very important for healthy humans.
Snacking on organic butter and becoming leaner
I will tell you one secret about myself. You might think, that this is disgustingly unhealthy. I often snack on butter. Yes, I just open a fridge take a stick of butter, open a magazine, book, or watch tv and enjoy bites from organic butter. I take several bites of butter and than some more and some more.
I usually end up eating half of the stick and put it back to the fridge. Is this a terrible habit to have? Well, time will tell. So far, I have been doing this for about two years now almost every day and I am leaner than ever.
On my recent surfing vacation in Mexico I realized that my six pack abs are turning into eight ack abs. I feel fantastic. I can give 1/2 of my energy away and still outperform majority of twenty something’s. my secret? More good fat in my diet, organic butter included and less empty carbohydrates. Go ahead give it a try or two. You will be surprised what this simple move does to your body.
Recently I have been experimenting with organic grass only fed butter. The price is about the same as organic butter, but I have a hard time to see the difference between those two. So for now I am sticking with organic butter only. Majority of it is grass fed anyway.
I would never thought I am going to say this, but there is no way I will switch organic butter for non organic anymore in the future. I am convinced that there is a huge difference in quality and health benefits between the two. And of course, happy cows also make me sleep little better too. So if you want to do a little tweak to your healthier nutrition today, next time you go to the grocery store reach for organic butter instead of regular.
