There are a lot of performance enhancing claiming products on the market. 99.9% of them are worthless. You can always get what they offer in natural form, which is thousand times better for you. So why would you buy them?
People believe, that if they take certain well marketed performance enhancing product like for example red bull, that they are getting huge healthy dose of energy – caffeine, taurine with combination of huge amount of sugar and whole chemistry of made up flavors and colors. Which you should really be scared of. Coffee does the same think, without all that bad stuff in it.
Another example is a whey protein isolate or soy protein isolate. They clam, that your muscles will grow fast! While they have a lot of protein in them, they are chemically processed and most often 3 pieces of chicken breasts contain more protein than the whole box of whey and soy supplement.
Anyway, there are very few things that can help you increase your physical and mental performance. You can trust me on this, I was a competitive rower before and I tried a lot of weird stuff to increased mine, and very few things actually worked.
Enhance your performance naturally.
First and most important to remember is, that if there really is a product that can increase your overall performance, it kicks in only after you did everything you could to enhance that performance naturally.
For example, if I spent all winter training easily and comfortably eating pizzas and other crap and my teammate works very hard and eats well, than some caffeine/ephedrine/aspirin exactly mixed concentrated drink or good dose of erythropoietin (EPO) shot, made by the best former east German sports chemist is not going to help me beat my teammate in the spring race. Quite opposite. I am going to be far, far behind him. Because, the work and the lifestyle maters much, much more and nothing is going to save my ass on spring races.
Same with you. Are you slightly overweight? Or a lot overweight? Is your diet good enough? Is it perfect? Is your diet free of sugar and processed foods? Do you eat 10 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday? Do you eat enough protein? Do you exercise regularly? Do you exercise intensively? Do you stretch regularly?
If not, than forget performance enhancing products. The best and by far the most effective way to increase your overall performance is by changing your lifestyle and how hard you work at it. There really isn’t any magic pill or powder that will help you with that.
Or actually there is.
Mix all kinds of spices like, thyme, turmeric, Cajun pepper, caraway seed, cinnamon, cocoa, curry, and others to your meal. And also have some green tea with a little bit off dark low sugar chocolate everyday. And if you really need some immediate energy, than have a large coffee with no sugar in it. That’s it. That’s all there is.
