Are you showing up for your work out? Statistics show that when you already show up for your work out, you are 80% more likely to finish your work out. This is huge! And what that means is to make it death easy to make your preparation for a workout fast, short and simple.
In my case that means, putting my running shoes and shorts on in 30 seconds or less without thinking about it and leaving the house right away. Suddenly I manage to stand on the street in front of my house with my athletic clothes on. And there is nothing else to do, than just start running. And when I start, I usually just keep going until I finish 45 – 1 hour run. And my workout is done.
I carry my rollerblades in my car at all times. When I have a brake between training sessions, I put the wheel skates on in 1 minute, grab a hockey stick if I happen to have it in my car and hit the street. 1 hour later I am done with my intensive, full of skill learning workout.
It’s the same with your gym workouts. Make it very easy to get to the gym, have it on the road to work or from work or just walking distance from your house. Have your cloths already on you, or change fast and without thinking get in the gym. Now, you are standing there in the front of all those machines and dumbbells. There is nothing left to do than just to do your workout. And you will most likely finish it.
To really keep up with you exercise, you have to remove all the barriers, all the BS from the road. It needs to be dead easy to show up. If you manage to do this, you will most likely keep up with your workout.
Completion of your workout closely depends on BS removal. Keep it simple. Show up. And the rest will take care of itself.
